About us

My name is Marco Bonamico and I'm the founder of BFG, a touristic tour business in Bologna, Italy. Former pro basketball player, silver olympic medalist and european champion. I had the chance to visit many different countries and learned that the best way to get in touch with locals is to share and taste their food.We specialize in providing unique and authentic experiences of the region's rich food culture. Our tours are designed in collaboration with international travel agencies to give visitors a deep dive into the food history and culture of the city, as well as a chance to sample some of the amazing cuisines available in the area. Whether you're looking for traditional Italian food or a modern twist on local cuisine, we have something for everyone. Our knowledgeable tour leaders will show you the best spots for food and drinks, and let you talk direcly with shop owners and chefs while you taste their food. BLQ Food Tour

A guided tour of the city's best food spots, with a focus on traditional Bolognese cuisine. We will visit small family owned shops like the Formaggeria Barbieri and le sfogline, taste homemade pasta parmisan, prosciutto, local wine, gelato and more. Veg alternatives available. Groups of 5 or more will benefit of 15% price reduction

The Ultimate Food Experience

A full day guided car tour (new SUV)in the countryside of Parma and Modena, exploring the roots of the Emilia Romagna cusine. Learn how Balsamic Vinegar, Prosciutto di Parma, Parmesan Cheese are made. Enjoy a typical lunch (3 courses, wine and dessert). Visit of Ferrari or Lamborghini can be included. Entrance fee not included.

Vineyards of Emilia-Romagna

From the Val Trebbia valley , just 50 miles from Milano, to the beaches of Rimini, our region offers an extesive variety of great wines. A full day guided car tour visting small producers and enchanting villages as Dozza famous for the Albana wine or Castelvetro home of great Lambrusco Grasparossa and Balsamic Vinegar. Typical Lunch and all tastings are included . The tour will take place in the province of Modena or Bologna, depending on local vineyards availability.

Don't miss this unforgettable food tour! Brendan_B, Sep 2022 Between the food and Marco, this was truly one of the best food tours we've done (and we do a lot). Every stop was incredible--a great mix of local cuisine with fan favorites as well as lesser known dishes. Marco was very knowledgeable about Bologna, and between stops we even learned a bit of non-food related history. Besides that, Marco was passionate, friendly, and knew exactly where to get the best food while avoiding tourist traps. Finally, the tour felt really personalized to us. Marco was constantly asking us what we were in the mood for and whether we liked this flavor or this that flavor, and would change up the tour accordingly. This tour was well worth the day trip to Bologna from Florence alone!

Best food tour ever! Debra_O, Jul 2022 Marco was on time, introduced himself and we started the tour with a cheese tasting. Marco was extremely knowledgeable about the cheese and the regions where they were made. We went through the market and talked about the many fruits and vegetables and tasted the local fruit. We followed that with a stop where they were making tortellini and had a try at forming one ourselves. Then we visited one of the local vendors and got meats, cheeses, and bread which we took to the oldest bar and enjoyed lunch with wine. We also did a balsamic tasting, got some history of the area and of course finished with gelato. Marco was a wonderful guide and I don’t think we could could have had a better experience! We would definitely recommend Marco and this tour!

Leeann_N, Jul 2022 We thoroughly enjoyed our experience with Marco. First, we misjudged the time it would take us to get to Bologna, along with a wrong turn made it so we would be late for our tour. Without even asking, Marco offered to change our time by one hour which was so kind and so helpful, and immediately allowed us to relax again! The tour was amazing, and of course delicious, and we enjoyed getting to know Marco along the way as well. One of our stops was to watch some fresh pasta being made, and we bought two different kinds and made them at our condo and honestly, they were the best we've ever had. He helped us pick some wines, and took us to a really friendly spot for our meat and cheese, along with a glass of wine, and of course, finished with some of the most divine gelato you'll ever try! Not to mention Marco has a great history in basketball which my husband also loves, so besides the beauty and cuisines of Bologna, they also had lots more to talk about! Would recommend this tour to anyone wishing to explore the tastes of Bologna but also the people and culture too, which are actually even better than the food!

Anyone wanting to learn all about the foods of Bologna should just take a tour with Marco! My family and I really enjoyed our tour with him. All the food we had was delicious— we can’t get over the onions and balsamic vinegar dish. Amazing taste :). It was fun to see how everyone we saw welcomed him with such enthusiasm. Marco himself was so much fun to be around!

Took a fantastic food tour in Bologna with Marco. He is super knowledgeable, fun, and interesting. Provided lots of great info about food and history of Bologna. Made sure we tasted a variety of different foods in offbeat locations. Really enjoyable. Highly recommend even if you are not a “foodie.”
